FYI – The following information was provided by the Cool-Pilot Hill Fire Safe Council. The next meeting for the Council is scheduled for mid-July when more information should be available.
Message received from the parent organization EDCFSC and from State of CA/EDC/CalFire – regarding home defense, specifically AB38, which is in effect as of July 1, 2021. The Divide in general, Cool-Pilot Hill specifically, are in a High or Very High Severity Zone, as designated by CalFire.
This is an informational item regarding AB 38 which we have been discussing/notifying for some time and went into effect July 1st.
It is the requirement that if you want to sell your home AND you are in a High or Very High Severity Zone, you must get a Defensible Space review done to inform the new buyer.
